It’s starting!

This is something you might hear in a movie of an impending alien invasion, “it’s starting” today I feel like something IS starting. More precisely I feel like God is starting something new. Call it a new work, a new thing, a new season or a new Latter Glory move but I believe that “it’s starting!” I feel like this verse is for today, for right now. ““But forget all that— it is nothing compared to what I am going to do. For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland.” ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭43:18-19‬ ‭NLT‬‬ The key IS “to see” the new! To see the new you have to take your eyes off of the old. Quit looking back. Even looking back to the “former glory” can cause you to not see the new. It’s good to be grateful and even testify of the things God has done but don’t miss out on the new. The new is beyond your imagination. You have to believe it by faith. The latter glory is always much greater than the former. God is not moving in your past He is moving in your present and He is moving you into your future. Second, God says I have already begun. The second obstacle to seeing the new is that we look for the product instead of the seed. We look for a finished work instead of a work in progress, we want to see an end instead of a beginning. God says I’ve already BEGUN! “It’s starting!” Don’t miss it, don’t miss out. Look for the beginning of something new. Look for a seed not a forest. What can you see God doing today, right now? It’s starting! The latter Glory is coming, the latter rain is coming, victory is coming, salvation is coming, healing is coming. The church growth you’ve desired is coming, promotion is on its way. But you have to see the cloud and you have to believe in the cloud. “Later on, in the third year of the drought, the Lord said to Elijah, “Go and present yourself to King Ahab. Tell him that I will soon send rain!” Then Elijah said to Ahab, “Go get something to eat and drink, for I hear a mighty rainstorm coming!” So Ahab went to eat and drink. But Elijah climbed to the top of Mount Carmel and bowed low to the ground and prayed with his face between his knees. Then he said to his servant, “Go and look out toward the sea.” The servant went and looked, then returned to Elijah and said, “I didn’t see anything.” Seven times Elijah told him to go and look. Finally the seventh time, his servant told him, “I saw a little cloud about the size of a man’s hand rising from the sea.” Then Elijah shouted, “Hurry to Ahab and tell him, ‘Climb into your chariot and go back home. If you don’t hurry, the rain will stop you!’” And soon the sky was black with clouds. A heavy wind brought a terrific rainstorm, and Ahab left quickly for Jezreel.” ‭‭1 Kings‬ ‭18:1, 41-45‬ ‭NLT‬‬ You have to love this story. A three year drought on the land. Not a cloud in the sky and the prophet proclaims rain! He proclaims, he prays, he persists and then he perceives. He sees what so many times we miss. A God beginning, a small cloud. His servant just saw a cloud about the size of a mans hand, Elijah saw the hand of God. God tells us what is coming. A pathway through the wilderness and rivers in the dry wasteland! God is about to make a way where there is no way and bring life to that which has died. The dream that died, the faith that was lost, the love that has left, the joy that cannot be found, the passion that has dried up. It’s all coming back when the river of God starts to flow. Rivers in the dry wasteland. God is going to make a pathway. Direction and divine destiny. Gods plan completed Gods purpose fulfilled, its coming! It’s starting! I see it in a new desire for prayer and presence. I see it in an awakening for more of Gods word. I see it in a renewed hunger for holiness. It may seem like little, like a tiny cloud, like a seed. But don’t miss it, act on it, move with it, believe that today God has begun to do a new thing! It’s starting!
